Marine Climate Change Centre

Marine Climate Change Scientists at The Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (Cefas)
Cefas Laboratory, Pakefield Road, Lowestoft, Suffolk NR33 0HT

Summary

Cefas houses the Marine Climate Change Centre, MC3, that was created as a practical response to issues highlighted in the IPCC 5th Assessment report on global climate change, the 2008 UK Climate Change Act and the 2012 UK Climate Change Risk Assessment (CCRA). Scientists within the MC3 undertake novel research and provide in–depth understanding of the global evidence base, co–ordinating the current thinking on marine climate change issues generally, investigating gaps in our knowledge and helping the UK to develop a robust response to the challenge of global warming. We also host the Marine Climate Change Impact Partnership (MCCIP).
