As a geomporphologist, I am particularly interested in the impact of climate change on physical systems and natural geomorphological processes acting on the earth’s surface.

My specific expertise is in climate change impacts on stone–built heritage, where I have worked on several government funded projects as a research fellow and PI (funded by EPSRC and Historic Scotland).

I am interested in the physical, chemical and biological implications of wetter winters and increased wind–driven rain on the fabric of built heritage, and have worked with architects and conservators to better understand changing moisture dynamics in stone related to shifting external environmental conditions (and how these changes in dynamics impact on decay processes).
