Tell us about your background and your current role…

In my current role I am involved in the scientific evaluation of global and regional surface atmospheric essential climate variables. Part of the work involves technical computing in Linux and Python to enable running of the Earth System Model Evaluation Tool and applying this to reanalysis datasets alongside gridded and other observational products in order to evaluate the data holdings in the Copernicus data store. Since this is a service contract the role also involves scientific reporting on regular 6 monthly cycles to meet the deliverables due to Copernicus via ECMWF. There are also regular teleconferences to coordinate the approach between the various European partners.
