Welcome to°Climate Northern Ireland- formerly known as the Northern Ireland Climate Change Impacts Partnership (NICCIP).

The aim of Climate Northern Ireland is to widen the understanding and knowledge of the impacts of climate change within Northern Ireland and the adaptation actions necessary to deal with it.

Adaptation means changing our behaviour to respond to both the projected and current impacts of climate change.

Northern Ireland needs to meet the challenge that our changing climate is having on our everyday life. Recent extreme events have shown how vulnerable we are to extreme weather events. We can only meet the challenge of meeting the changes to our climate by coming together and commencing climate change adaptation activities and actions together in partnership across Northern Ireland.
